Carlton E. Gray Sr.

Carlton E. Gray Sr. is an ordained Elder at New Direction Bible Fellowship. Elder Gray answered the call to the Deacons ministry in 2006 at the Alpha Baptist Church. While at Alpha, he co-chaired the Deacons ministry, was a counselor with the Joshua Counseling ministry, and sung on the Choir.

Elder Gray’s life’s work has been in the human services field. For over 30 years, he has provided guidance to troubled youth and their family. Today, he is employed by the Delaware Guidance Services as a Mobile Crisis Clinician where he provides clinical services to individuals, families, and/or groups in office, home, school, or community settings. He collaborates with public institutions as well as other agencies to provide quality healthcare services to adolescent youth and their families.

Elder Gray is a certified Biblical Counselor earning his certificate from the Christian Research & Development (CRD) program through Christian Stronghold Baptist Church, Philadelphia, PA. Elder Gray has presented workshops on “How to Handle Your Anger in a Biblical Manner” and “Dealing with Children and Adolescents of Divorce.”

Elder Gray earned an A.A.S. – Early Childhood Development degree, graduating Cum Laude, and received the House of Representatives’ Jane P. Maroney Award for: Advocacy in Early Childhood Education, For Success in Guiding Young Children in Their Early Years. In May 2000, he graduated from Lincoln University earning his Master of Human Service degree. While at Lincoln University he completed a publication on, Restraining Adolescents: Alternative Interventions.

Elder Gray resides in Bear, DE with his wife of 29 years, Cheryl. He has 3 adult children daughter Sharna’ Garrett, son-in-law Bill, 2 grandchildren, BJ and Madison, and sons, Darryn and Carlton Jr. Carlton enjoys the opportunity to be a servant for those in need and to affect a positive change in our youth.
